  • We cannot protect everyone from everything. Society only has so much money and we have to allocate it wisely. Otherwise we won't have money for the truly needy. It's time to allow the math to dictate some of our actions.

  • Since we already have untenable deficits, we should demand that an independent board demonstrate the need for high-speed passenger rail. We should not rely on the vision of railroad industry leaders prone to self-promotion and interested in profits.
